What troubles me is the person who originally posted the slander of sheikh Rabee’ and the like, claims Salafiyyah. Just goes to show you the misguidance of this ummah. Many knowledgeable people say “test a person’s Salafiyyah by their stance on sheikh Rabee’” how true is this, subhana Allaah.

Just a friendly reminder, do not take from or trust anyone just because they claim Salafiyyah. Actions speak louder than words.

Don’t swear by other than Allaah.
The Prophet [صلى الله عليه و سلم] said: “Whoever swears by other than Allaah then he has committed shirk” [Saheeh al jaam’i; authenticated by al Albaanee]
[Examples are: I swear by this person’s death, I swear by the ka’ba, I swear by the nabee..etc]
This is very dangerous. It’s something people take so lightly [especially Arabs because it has basically become part of the culture “wa an-nabee” “wa rahmet emi/abooy”..]

tawakul:

We are almost a month away from Ramadan. If you missed any days of fasting from last Ramadan please remember to make them up before this one. Remember those days are a debt to Allah.

Allahuma balighna Ramadan

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?
He will say, “Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life.”
So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,
And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].
[Surat al Fajr-89:23-26]

"Shurayh al-Qaadee (d.80H) said: “Verily, the Sunnah has preceded your qiyaas (analogical deduction), so follow and do not innovate."

And if Allah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth, but He gives them respite to an appointed term, and when their term comes, then verily, Allah is Ever AllSeer of His slaves. [35:45]

“And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned..” [42:30]

From the means of firming the hearts: Frequent remembrance of Allaah, frequent reading of the Qur’aan, befriending the righteous, remembrance of death, staying away from disobedience and doubts. Allaahumma make our hearts firm on Your obedience.

“If knowledge is not acted upon, it becomes a proof against you, and you will not be excused for what you carry (i.e., knowledge)

So if you come to realize this fact, then you will also realize, that the proof of a man’s speech lies in his actions.”

[Iqtidaa-ul-‘Ilm al-‘Amal (Knowledge Mandates Action) by Al Khateeb Al Baghdadi]

O you who have believed, fear Allah . And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allah . Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do. And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.

[59:18-19]

“…And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.” [59:7]

“…Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.” [2:286]

"Al-Fudhayl ibn ‘Iyaadh (rahimahullaah) said: “If you find yourself not being able to perform the night prayer or fast during the day, then know that indeed you are prevented, shackled – shackled by your sins."
Sifah as-Safwah 2/238 (via nonchalante)

One of the Salaf said: I sinned a sin so I was deprived of Qiyaam al Layl for a year.

Another Salaf said: I sinned a sin so I was deprived of understanding the Qur’aan.

These two narrations are an example of the consequences of sins. When we sin, not only do we lose Allaah’s pleasure, but it becomes harder for us to do good. Sins take away blessings- one of those blessings being gaining Allaah’s pleasure through good deeds. Another example is sinning so much that you are no longer able to fast the sunnahs of Mondays and Thursdays.

You know Allaah is pleased with you when doing good is easy for you. Likewise, you know Allaah is not pleased with you when it’s hard to do good. May Allaah keep us away from sins and may He always be pleased with us and us be pleased with Him. Allaahumma ameen.
